Reiki

Reiki is an ancient hands-on healing art, discovered by Dr. Mikao Usui in Japan in the late 19th, early 20th century. The method makes use of transmitted healing energy of a high frequency called Universal Life Force Energy. This energy is transmitted from above and below the practitioner's hands and feet, through the heart and is shared by the practitioner during a session of gentle laying on of hands on the recipient's body.

A session of Reiki work is done on a massage table with the client clothed. The practitioner quietly discovers those places in the body where there are energy blockages and lays both hands in those places detected to guide the healing energy that has been received from above and below. This promotes deep relaxation in the recipient and balances the energy pathways in the body so that self-healing may take place.
